THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

What's good my beautiful people? I recently spent time in my home town of Detroit MI,. I have to say every time I go home it hurts to see a city once so proud and bold be so life less and and cold. I take pride in my home town no matter how it is and where it's going.and most do and should because you can never turn your back on your home and if you do,your what they call fake. Now with that being said,i think what hurts the most is that the young people seem to not have any goals anymore.All they want to do is just be here. I seen about 40 different sets of kids between the ages of 8-9 to 21-25 years of age.And all they were doing were either talking about the videos the seen or who got shot,and how they going to make money,but the problem was none of they had a mind to do so.Now I am not,let me say again I AM NOT saying this new crop of youngster and not smart,what I am saying is they have no ambitions,no work habits,and no heart to even get what they want so badly. All they want to do is talk and get over and some want to kill or be killed. That's a sad state of affairs if you ask me. Now by no means do I think all people in this age limit is the same,but its so many that the few who are not like that get over shadow. where did we all go wrong. I was once told  that "IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RISE A CHILD",and if that is true then we all have fail somewhere along this path. I want to do my part do you want to do yours? People I ask please teach your kids how to be an adult the right way. Let them fall,and sometimes let them bump their head,But  still be there when it matters. And if someone isn't doing such a good job help them out and  say something, just don't talk about it and do nothing. Till the next time....please let's become a family again like the KING wanted us to be.                         PEACE.

Hey people its been a minute since the last Inner City,but we are back and we are good.This is a big Inner City thank you to all the people who have supported me and just been there for me in me trying times.The greatness of having friends and family who love you and support you is second to none.I hope that we all have a support system in place.It's something that we all take for granted from time to time,but the thing is not to abuses it to the point of no return.We all can take a minute to say thank you to the people who have been there for you.No matter if it's a long time friend or a new person in your life.If they helped you in any kind of way please say thank you and let them know that you appreciate any and everything they have done for you.So in closing THANK YOU to all who supported me and THANK YOU  for the love and friendship.

NEW YEAR COMES

It's the first Inner City of the year,and all we want to do is wish everyone a great start to the year and hope that this will be the start of good things to come. We here at Inner City know that we have come so far as a people and our movements and trying to live in this crazy world, but yet have much more to go. We want to be that the eye and ears and anything else the people needs. This editorial is just to let you know that we are going to try harder,we going to try to do whatever it is that we can do to make our Urban cities and our people get more and get what they need. So enjoy the start of the year,enjoy  making the promise of doing better,but let's do what we need to do and get back to helping and loving one another.

TEENS & GUNS

Today we here at the INNER CITY would like to take the time to point out some funny things. Like the fact over the last ten years we have experienced school violence to the point where it brings this county to a stand still. On Monday this violence happen again. A teen in Wisconsin walks into a high school and takes 23 students and 1 teacher hostage. This teen let off five shots before going down to a self inflected wound. Now here is the funny part,all these acts of random violence happen in towns where they are no medal detectors,where its supposed to be much safer then what you would consider an inner city school. Now don't get me wrong I know that the inner cities have been ran over with violence at one time. But this the day age its rare that you hear about a teen going on a killing spree at a inner city school. Now there is still troubles all over the inner cities and that will always be as long as the inner city is where the poverty line stands. But we think that these other so call clean and whole some schools need to be put in check. Until someone talk with these kids (mostly white kids) get to them and find out what makes them tick,and not just say “oh he was so quiet” or “he was never any trouble” then its going to be a lot more of them trying to take over a school or camp. Now I say lets do to these school and students that we do to the inner city schools and students. Lets talk to them, lets put medal detectors in there schools, Lets give them something more then the video games they play. So in closing we must not just play attention to the inner city kids and what they are doing, we must pay attention to all. And lets stop putting the blame on music, or video games. It starts at home first and we must do a better job. We must remember it takes a village to rise a child.

GIVING BACK

INNER CITY BLUES

 

Once again I'm here to just give you something to think about. Today's thought is about giving back to your city. Their are many people who say we need to buy from locally own business or we need help build up our neighbor hoods. The problem with this is, once most of us get enough money to move out these areas they don't look back. And if and when they do, they do something like donate toys or rebuild a park. But rebuilding a park is nice but isn't that the problem, we want to give back so the people will have more to look forward too other then sports and playing. Right? I have always felt the best way to kill two birds with one stone is too invest in a business in these areas, and train the people who live there how to run it so they can work there, buy there, and also keep it going for the next generation can take it over. (or at least as long as it can go). Now you have people like AL Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and many sports hero's who are from these inner cities and rural areas who said how much need to give back and how much they have, but I have yet to see one of them buy or start a business and teach people how to run it and then sell it to the people in that city. Now yeah people will say they made jobs in that area, true but they still making money off them same people. So really who comes out on top when they're supposed to be giving back. I truly believe the best way to give back in this situation is to give people something to strive for, something they can pass down, something they know is worth way more then a couple hours on a playground or some toys that will last just long enough till the next toy comes out. I just think if your in the position to really give back you should, don't be one who do things to make your conscience feel better about not doing all you know you could be doing. There are so many who don't make it out not because their not good enough maybe just didn't have their chance or missed it trying to help others. There are so many obstacle and walls to get over, so we appreciate that you don't build the wall higher,but if your not going to throw a rope to help climb or at least a hand to help get don't keep saying what we need and what you done because it ain't shit to many of us.

Child Support

THE INNER CITY BLUES

Once it's time to take a look at whats going on around your Inner City. Today I would like to talk about some of the County Jails here in West Michigan. It makes me sad that in Kalamazoo County and Kent County (Grand Rapids Area) Jails are full of men who are there for Child Support. Both jails had like between 30 to 40% of there inmates were there for Child Support. Now by no means am I saying it's not needed, but I think they are over doing it and there is so much more going on in crime right now .When will the State and some people wake up and see that putting a father in jail is not the answer. One reason is that there are a lot of men who wants to be with their kids but the system is a weapon for the woman. Some woman know that their child father wants to be there but they won't let him because she holds the power. Then the State takes it out on the man. The second reason is how much support can a child get if his father is in jail. If he's in jail now he cant even see his child,cant do nothing for his child. When will people realize that support goes so much further then just money. If a man doesn't have money doesn't mean he cant still be the best father he can be. It doesn't mean he can't spend time and the little he has with his children. I just think the State and a lot of women and some men need to stop playing in the courts and be real to your kids. They say each generation gets a little worst off then the last,well shit like this I wonder why? Come on people it's late in the game time to step up and love you children and love one another.
